Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Thamizhan collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user. Thamizhan is designed as a personal, offline-first app — we keep data collection to an absolute minimum.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Birth details (date, time, place) entered for horoscope and nakshatra calculations — stored locally on your device only.
• Names entered for marriage matching (porutham) or child name suggestions — stored locally on your device only.
• Photos selected from your library for the video slideshow maker — accessed temporarily for video creation and not stored by us.

Information collected automatically:

• Location data — used only when you request location-based festival or panchanga information. Your location is not stored or transmitted to our servers.
• Device information — basic device data (iOS version, device model) may be collected anonymously by Apple's standard crash reporting to help us fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

All information entered into the app is used solely to provide the features you request:

• Birth details are used to calculate your nakshatra, rasi, jathagam, and panchanga results.
• Location data is used only to display local festival timing and panchanga — never stored or shared.
• Photos are used only to generate the video slideshow on your device — videos are saved to your local photo library.
• Devotional songs streamed within the app are served via Firebase — no personal data is attached to streaming requests.

3. Data Storage

All personal data (birth details, names, preferences) is stored exclusively on your device using iOS local storage. We do not maintain any servers that store your personal data.

Videos created using the slideshow maker are saved directly to your iPhone's Photos library. We do not upload or retain copies of your videos.

4. Third-Party Services

Thamizhan uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — used for streaming devotional audio content. Firebase may collect anonymised usage data per its own privacy policy. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store — standard analytics provided by Apple when you download the app. See Apple Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any other third parties.

5. Location Data

Thamizhan may request access to your device's location to provide accurate local panchanga and festival information. Location access is optional — you can deny location permission and manually enter your city instead.

Your precise location is never stored, shared, or transmitted to our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

Thamizhan is a family-friendly cultural app suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Access & delete — You can view or delete any data you've entered directly within the app, or by uninstalling the app.
• Location permission — You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Thamizhan → Location.
• Photos permission — You can revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings → Thamizhan → Photos.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
